  • 4. Create BC In the Media Content

BC In the Media content is now created with a new template which can be used within SmartEdit and does not create a separate redirect page. Navigate to the BC In the Media page.

  • Click the Open Content RedDot to open the BC In the Media page's edit mode.

  • Next, click the Add A New In the Media Item RedDot.

  • Click Create and Connect Page.

  • Click Base News In the Media Item.

  • Enter the In the Media item's title in the Headline field. Click OK when complete.

  • The preview will refresh, and the newly created In the Media item will show in the list with all of its RedDots available.

  • Click the Add/Edit Title RedDot if the title needs to change.

  • Click the Add/Edit Date RedDot and enter the date.


  • Click the Add/Edit Source RedDot to add the source.


Linking to Content

In the Media content can connect to either external URLs or PDF files. For URLs:

  • Click the Add/Edit URL RedDot and paste in the URL.


For PDFs: 

  • Click the Add/Edit PDF RedDot.

  • A new window will appear. Click Switch Folder.

  • Scroll to the correct folder. For 2014, the correct folder is News - News Stories 2014.

  • Click Select Asset from Local File System.

  • A new window will appear. Click Browse to select the file from your local file system, network drive, etc. Click Open to accept the selection.

The preview will refresh and the title text, date and source will be linked to the PDF file.

Publishing

  • Right-click anywhere to display the right-click contextual menu. Select Submit to Workflow to release the In the Media content.
  • Right-click anywhere again to display the right-click contextual menu and select Publish. A new window will appear. Accept all the defaults and click OK when ready. This will publish the BC In the Media page.
