To add full-width images or video, we need to first have an Additional Content - Text and rightColumn element available. Please refer to those instructions for more information. As a reminder, make sure you submit all elements to workflow to make them available to be published.
Initial Setup
The Additional Content - Text and rightColumn element now has an additional RedDot:
- Add/Edit Full Width Content
This functions the same as adding right or left-side content.
- Click on the RedDot.
- Select Create and Connect Page.
- For an image, click Callout Content Column Image.
- For video, click Callout Content Column Video.
For Video:
- Add the Youtube / Vimeo ID and caption as normal
- Click the "Is this video in the right, left or full content area?" RedDot. Choose "Full". Click Ok.
For Images:
- Images are recommended to be in a 16:9 ratio but this is not absolute. The image requires a specific width of 690 pixels, but the height of the image can be whatever is appropriate for the image content.
- Add the image and caption as normal
- Click the "Image Width (For Admin Use Only)" RedDot. Choose "Photo4 (full)". Click Ok.
Full-width Image to Begin a Story
If you want a story to start with an image or video, like this example - Placing Craft Above Fame, Novella Nelson '58 Dared to Take on Roles from Classical to Avant-Garde, simply create an Additional Content - Text and rightColumn element for the full-width content and then one or more additional Additional Content - Text and rightColumn elements for the text content and other media. Do not add any part of the text content to the Add / Edit Content Red Dot that is part of the default news story page as that will always be above any additional content.
