Description:
Create New "smart" Instructional Infrastructure (smart classrooms, computer labs...) includes the following:
- Coordinate with Facilities office and outside vendors (if necessary) to install required infrastructure (power, lighting, shades, security, whiteboardss..)
- Equip the target spaces with the required computer and audiovisual equipment
How to Submit a Request:
Proposal for spaces to be upgraded may be submitted at any time to ITS Help Desk, but smart spaces are typically funded in the context of the annual STF funding competition, so new spaces are best proposed in that process.
Turnaround Time:
Prior to beginning of building new "smart" instructional infrastructure, mutual consensus/specifications between requester, Facilities, ITS, Student Technology Fee (STF) committee and outside vendor must be collected. Timeline of project execution (designing and installing services) depend on space availability, funding availability, procurement lead-times, etc...
During regular business hours, ITS Help Desk addresses support requests on an immediate basis. During extended support hours (evenings and weekends), ITS provides phone support on an immediate basis, but non-emergency on-site activities may be deferred to the next business day.
